This policy explains how RankMerlin ("we", "us") handles personal data on rankmerlin.com and in the RankMerlin application at app.rankmerlin.com.

What we collect

The marketing site at rankmerlin.com sets no cookies and collects no personal data by itself. When you run a scan, the URL you enter is sent to our application, which crawls the public pages of that site and stores the scan result. We also store the IP address the scan came from, used only for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

If you request your full report, we store the email address you provide so we can link the report to you. We do not buy, sell, or share personal data with third parties for marketing.

Scanning

Scans only make normal public HTTP requests to the site you enter, the same as any visitor or search engine. We do not attempt logins, do not submit forms, and do not write anything to the scanned site.

Where data lives

Application data is stored on servers in the European Union. Transactional email is sent through Amazon SES.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated.
